World Immunisation Week 2025 Vaccines save six lives every minute—and yet, in PNG, immunisation rates have stalled at just 50%. Around 120,000 children remain unvaccinated each year, especially in remote communities that are hardest to reach. To change this, through Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade - DFAT’s #ANCP, ADI and our partners—Western PHA, World Vision, and ECPNG—launched a major outreach patrol to Ningerum Station in North Fly, Western Province. Over 30 health workers formed five mobile teams, going door-to-door across the vast Ningerum catchment to vaccinate children under five. More than 1,000 people attended clinics and awareness sessions on day one alone. But with a growing population of 20,000+, our teams are pushing further into remote areas—ensuring no child is left behind. (fb)
