It has been an inspiring week for CGGS student leaders. On Wednesday, several students met with Australia’s first female Governor General, the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO , together with students from Marist College Canberra (MCC). As a Patron of Make A Mark Australia (MAMA), Dame Quentin spent time with CGGS and Marist staff and students who recently participated in the Solomon Islands Immersion program and visited MAMA’s projects at Mercy School and Amoana Christian Academy. The visit was an opportunity for staff and students to reflect on the impact of the immersion experience and to discuss the projects that MAMA supports across the world. Students and staff also had the privilege of listening to Dame Quentin’s reflections on a life of service. We are grateful to MCC for hosting this very special event and look forward to the next joint immersion to the Solomon Islands in 2026!
