📍 Ballarat City Council Joins Finding Her to Celebrate Women’s Stories Ballarat, on the traditional lands of the Wadawurrung people, is joining the Finding Her Research Hub pilot program with Her Place Women’s Museum. Many incredible women who shaped Ballarat’s fascinating history remain under-recognised in commemorative place naming — we’re here to help research and tell their stories, and support the creation of inclusive and diverse name banks for future commemoration. Thanks to support from Geographic Names Victoria, Her Place will work with Ballarat Council to uncover and share local women’s stories. This collaboration supports Victoria’s target of having 70% of new commemorative place naming after women and complements the systemic place naming reform led by our partners at Gender Equity Victoria through the Put Her Name On It campaign. Her Place will: ✅ Help Ballarat celebrate women already honoured & add them to the Finding Her map ✅ Provide tools & training for inclusive local storytelling ✅ Highlight Ballarat’s leadership in gender equity and cultural heritage We can’t wait to share more!
