Year 4 had an unforgettable Convict Camp experience last week, exploring Australia’s colonial past through hands-on learning at The Rocks, Cockatoo Island and Parramatta. Highlights included a tall ship journey across Sydney Harbour and visits to Elizabeth Farm and Hambledon Cottage. Despite the torrential rain, the girls showed incredible resilience and teamwork - well done, Year 4! (fb)
For our youngest learners here at the Junior School, experiences like visiting the elderly in our community are especially valuable. They learn empathy, respect, and the importance of community, while also developing their social and communication skills in a meaningful way. Spending time with older generations helps young children broaden their perspective, build confidence in engaging with others, and appreciate the wisdom and stories shared with them. What a delight it was for our Transition students to visit one of our local Care Homes recently. These generational connections create powerful moments of joy, happiness, and mutual understanding.
