The Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases (ASID) is an independent organisation founded by physicians, pathologists and scientists across Australasia. The peak professional body for infectious diseases and microbiology in Australasia. ASID supports the infectious diseases and microbiology community with educational activities such as conferences and webinars for its members and the wider healthcare community locally and internationally. ASID also provides a mechanism for collaboration in research between its members and other organisations and also helps fund research which benefits not only Australia and New Zealand but also the global community. ASID advocated for sound healthcare practices including those affecting the underprivileged and indigenous comminites.
