"Self-belief & hard work will always earn you success." - Virat Kohli Today was bloody freezing & windy BUT I didn't let that stop me from completing a lap of the old Brauer College Drivers Education Track with Mum, Stella & Chloe. Pre-warming my hand with a heat pack before we left to ensure no steering problems occurred from a cold hand worked a treat, I completed the lap without any problems, then returned home to my rug & heat pack to warm back up. There would have been a time when weather like today would have stopped me from going out but since I started my fitness program 11 months ago I have rarely missed a walk. As soon as I could feel the positive effects of my fitness program my self belief started to return & I was hooked. The self belief only continued to grow as I advanced through each stage of the program & added extra distance along the way. I became obsessed with the hard work because I could see the strength returning after each walk. That obsession for the hard work took me from struggling to get around to now managing 20-30 minute walks. Self-belief & hard work is what enabled me to achieve the impossible for someone suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy; I regained strength I had lost. Self-belief & hard work is what enables me to retain that strength I regained over the past 11 months. My commitment to the fitness program allows me to continue enjoying my walks, continue attending Premier Speedway, Warrnambool, continue attending Gillin Boys Foundation events to FIGHT for a world without Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy & continue inspiring others. MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who is fully invested in my journey. Your love, constant support, belief & encouraging words help keep me motivated to keep FIGHTING. The more funds we raise the quicker the cure Christopher Gillin 2019 About Us Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Warrnambool was founded in 2016 by Christopher and his younger brother Aaron. They both suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and wanted to try to make a difference for those suffering from the disease. Their aim was to raise as much money and awareness as possible in the hope of finding a cure for future generations well aware it was too late to help them.
