A little note from Katie... Hi, my name is Katie, and I lead the Pastoral Team at Macquarie. We have a beautiful team of people with a heart to care for, support, and encourage others in the Church during times of need. One of my favourite Bible verses is found in John 13:34–35. After Jesus washes His disciples’ feet, He says: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” If you’re going through a challenging time—whether due to illness, the loss of a loved one, or simply needing support—can I encourage you to let your Life Group leader know, come and receive prayer after the service, and jump online and submit a Prayer Request so we can give you a call and check in. Perhaps you have a pastoral gift that you’d like to use to help others in the Church. Whether it’s offering practical support like preparing a meal for someone, starting a new Life Group and discipling a small group of people, or joining the Prayer Team to pray for others—we’d love to hear from you. One of my favourite moments on a Sunday is seeing people connecting after the service. When we ask how someone is going, offer encouragement, or take a moment to pray—we’re loving one another, just as Jesus commanded in John 13. Thank you, Macquarie.
