⏳ We’re on the countdown! Feedback on the draft Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme closes tomorrow, 19 September, at midnight. This is our chance to shape the future of our region by: 🌱 Protecting our green and blue spaces 🌳 Safeguarding regional inter-urban and intra-urban breaks and corridors between localities 🌏 Preserving our irreplaceable environment and amenity 🏡 Limiting and containing urban sprawl 🔥 Responding and adapting to climate change 🎨 Embedding Sunshine Coast Design principles We must also listen and learn from First Nations People on how to be better custodians of Land and Sea Country. Extract from Kabi Kabi Acknowledgement Statement: "The Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme plays an important role in directing and managing land use planning and development matters on the Sunshine Coast and has a role to play in ensuring the continuation of Kabi Kabi connection to Country as well as enabling Kabi Kabi peoples to live, work and derive our spiritual needs on Country" Extract from Jinibara Acknowledgement Statement: "As we consider the development occurring throughout our Country, we have sought visibility and acknowledgement. Our activities encompass not only environmental protection but also extensive advocacy and outreach initiatives. Collaborating with our member groups we unite tens of thousands of community members working tirelessly to educate and rally people around the most pressing issues affecting the Sunshine Coast.
