💙 This Prostate Cancer Awareness Week, your voice can save lives. At Charlies Foundation, we’re proud to support researchers like Kaylee Molin, a PhD student in Medical Physics at UWA, who is working to improve outcomes for patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. Kaylee shares: “While cancer treatment and diagnosis has improved incredibly in the last 10–20 years, the survival rates for metastatic prostate cancer are still very low at just 30% after 5 years. My work aims to change this.” "I’m extremely grateful to the Charlie’s Foundation for supporting research that’s working to improve the lives of patients today and in years to come." We’re honoured to fund research that’s changing lives today — and creating hope for the future. Only 36% of prostate cancer cases are found at stage 1, when survival rates are far higher. Dementia doesn’t just impact the person living with the condition and their immediate carers; it also impacts their friends, family and wider social network. People living with dementia tell us that friends and family often drop away, not knowing how to interact with them once they have a diagnosis. This leads to social isolation and loneliness and can further drive stigma and discrimination. With an estimated 433,300 Australians living with dementia and 1.7 million people involved in their care, chances are you know someone who is impacted by dementia. This Dementia Action Week Charlies Foundation asks the community to reach out and reconnect to someone impacted by dementia because nobody can do it alone. (fb)
