🏐 VOLLEYBALL CHAMPS 🏐 On Monday both the girls and boys NSATIS volleyball teams competed in the state grand finals against Hobart's Guilford Young College here at LCS. Both LCS teams finished the season undefeated winning the northern grand finals late last term and this week facing the winners of the southern competition. The girls team played exceptionally well displaying a high degree of skill and fantastic teamwork. They took the first set 25-21, the second set 25-16, and the third set 25-13. Well done to the girls, and coach Mrs Sandy Shand, on a wonderful season and exemplary result – state grand final winners! The boys team played next and started well with a close 28/26 win in the first set. While there were some amazing passages of play from LCS throughout the remainder of the game, the experienced Guilford Young boys held on to win the next three sets 25-22, 25-18, 25-18. Although it was not our day, the boys should be very pleased with their efforts to be northern champions and then runner-up in the state grand final. Volleyball has become very popular at LCS in recent times and our teams have shown that there is a real depth of talent in our school. We look forward to next year with hopefully more new players joining in.
