Celebrating the life of Vona Thompson! For those connected with Northern Community CareWorks and Northern Community Church of Christ, you will undoubtedly come across the most wonderful Vona. Vona and her Material and Haberdashery Corner were an institution at Northern since around 2004. For those hard-to-get knitting needles, a set of buttons to add some bling to an outfit or dolls with beautifully knitted clothes. The list goes on and on. All the while, we had Vona front and centre, who showed an interest in all those who came across her path. When it came to haberdashery, if Vona didn't either have it or know about it, it probably wasn't worth having! It is with sadness that we share the news that Vona passed away. A graveside committal will be held on Friday, 11 July, at 11 am at Preston Cemetery, 900 Plenty Road, Bundoora (Area P). Vona's family welcome all those who would like to come and celebrate her life.
