Today QDN joined members of parliament alongside our friends from PeakCare Queensland, Families Australia, QCOSS and thriving Queensland Kids Partnership to raise awareness for this years Anti-Poverty Week. This morning highlighted the importance of raising awareness for Australian children living in poverty. When children live in poverty and experience issues like living in cars and moving homes quickly, they often must leave their favourite teddies behind. This Morning the 100 teddies bears were used to visually represent the number of Children living in poverty. Right now, nearly 17 percent of all children experience poverty in Australia. These teddies are more than just toys, they are a reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, comfy, and like they belong. #endchildpoverty #antipovertyweek (fb)
