The 8th Irish Australian Film Festival took place in cinema and online from August 25th to September 16th, 2022. The festival took place in 5 cities Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra. The festival partnered with Palace Cinemas in each city. The online festival was geoblocked to Australia. The Festival used the festival streaming services of Shift 72, based in NZ. The festival screened a total of 16 films. The cinema season screened 10 features of which 8 were Australian premieres. The online season screened 12 features all of which were Australian premieres. It is unlikely that these films will be picked up by theatrical or streaming services so this is probably the only place that Australian audiences will see this Irish content.
