Yesterday, our wonderful IFSS Women’s Social Group had the pleasure of working alongside The REED Collective to create and deliver handmade bouquets to the residents of SwanCare Kingia. The smiles, happy tears, and heartfelt conversations reminded us just how powerful simple acts of kindness can be. 💐   This beautiful moment was part of The Bloom Well Project, an initiative by The REED Collective that empowers women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds through hands-on floristry workshops. Over the past nine months, participants have grown in confidence, creativity, and skill, transforming unsold flowers into meaningful gifts for aged care residents.   With the generous support of Jesson Flowers and Floraco, more than 30kg of blooms were repurposed by 15 incredible women. Each bouquet was paired with a handwritten note, creating genuine moments of connection across generations. 💕   At Communicare, we are proud to live our value of Diverse Allies, championing inclusion, empowerment, and community. National Families Week is a time to celebrate with your family, connect with your extended family and friends, and share in the enjoyment of family activities within the wider community.   The aim of National Families Week is to not only celebrate the vital role that families play in Australian society, but to also reflect on the critical role that families play in teaching, supporting and nurturing children as they grow.   We wanted to share a message from our Parenting and Family support services Coordinator, Carmen Wright to send a reminder that our Parenting Services program, Keeping Kids in Mind starts next week.   Keeping kids in mind is a FREE 5-week program, designed for parents who are experiencing ongoing conflict after separation, and is open to all Perth parents.   The program helps parents to see separation from their child’s perspective, understand the impact of conflict on children, and learn strategies to rebuild resilience and move forward positively.     📧 Please reach out to our parenting team at parenting@communicare.org.au.
