The Islamic College of Brisbane was established in January 1995. It offers high quality education at both primary and secondary levels. As the world gradually moves beyond the COVID19 pandemic, 2022 has been a year of exceptional growth for the Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) across all areas of activity including academic performance, sporting achievement, extracurricular activities and community engagement. The following highlights showcase the remarkable achievements of the year. Academic Accomplishments: In a historic milestone, 99% of ICB's 2022 Year 12 graduates received university offers, with the majority securing admission to their preferred courses. ICB students continued to perform above the state average in NAPLAN results, reflecting the school's commitment to academic excellence. In response to student needs, ICB expanded its subject offerings for senior secondary students in 2022. Athletic Successes: ICB's sports teams have continued to excel, with FUTSAL teams winning or qualifying for multiple district, state, and national championships across various age groups. Likewise, ICB's netball team achieved significant success in numerous tournaments. The school also partnered with the Usman Khawaja Foundation to establish a cricket clinic at ICB, with plans to participate in cricket competitions in the near future. Extracurricular Triumphs: ICB's debating teams have made their mark in statewide competitions, qualifying for and winning multiple events. Additionally, the school launched a robotics club to equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in a technologically advanced future. Community Engagement: ICB students took part in a groundbreaking social experiment called The Swap, which involved six students from Catholic and state schools attending ICB, while ICB students experienced life at Catholic and state schools. Conceived by ICB CEO Mr. Ali Kadri, the experiment was broadcast on SBS TV to critical acclaim, positioning ICB as a leader in fostering social cohesion and harmony among future generations. Embracing Artificial Intelligence: ICB is at the forefront of adopting generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology in administration, teaching, and learning. School staff members have harnessed AI to streamline processes and enhance communication within the community. Students are encouraged to use AI as a tutoring aid, while the technology is also employed to analyse students' athletic skills. To maintain academic integrity, ICB has updated its assessment policy in light of these technological advancements.
