Yesterday Rural Health West held its Cancer Council Western Australia Biggest Morning Tea. Thanks to everyone who baked, dressed up, donated and joined us for a fabulous morning of food and fundraising! With a table full of sweet and savoury delights, our Baking Competition was expertly judged by our Chief Executive Officer Professor Catherine Elliott, Business Systems Manager Annie Rowe, and Graphic Designer Jonathan Chung. While our regional services program coordinator Renee McCrae won the raffle prize. 💙💛 We’ve already raised $595 for the Cancer Council, and we’re aiming for $1,000! Happy International Nurses Day! 🩺 Today, we are honouring the incredible rural nurses who are the lifeblood of our country communities. With an average age of 52, many bring a lifetime of knowledge, dedication and compassion. From early career to expert and master stages, their contribution to rural healthcare is irreplaceable. Despite the challenges our nurses continue to show up and deliver care where it's needed most. Did you know 83.3 per cent of our nurses trained right here in Australia, and 92.9 per cent of them are women !
