The teachers have organized fun lunch recess time activities for all students this term on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Tuesdays are for taiko drumming. We're all having a blast learning how to play the Taiko drums. When we hit the drum just right, an empty plastic bottle flies all the way to the ceiling, and we get so excited! We even started practicing our first song this week! Thursdays are for gardening, origami, and more! Right now, we're working hard on weeding, and we'll be planting seedlings soon. Today, we had the incredible opportunity to enjoy a live performance by Clarinet Parfait, a talented clarinet ensemble from Japan! The group visited SJIS and filled our school with the beautiful sound of music. Students and staff alike were captivated by their fun, engaging performance and the charm of the clarinet's rich tones.
