The Project's mission is to promote the development of hearing health and education services to benefit children in Western Australia's Sister State, East Java. HAEJ Project has been assisting East Java's prime school for deaf children, Karya Mulia School (KYr12) for over 30 years, improving facilities, equipment and training for teachers of the deaf, including support for a Rotary Teacher Exchange Program bringing Karya Mulia teachers to Perth for upskilling and helping equip and establish the school's new library. We have also and supported the move to inclusive education in East Java more generally, advising the EJ Government and assisting Airlangga University with establishing a graduate program in clinical audiology. HAEJ Project trained Eats Java's first clinical audiologist at the University of Western Australia.
