What a week! A solid 4.5 days was spent in Adelaide retrieving several dual gauge turnouts which will aid in enabling trains of both gauges to access our workshops and storage sheds (currently only broad gauge) 4x second hand, but well and truly serviceable dual gauge turnouts were sourced from Viterra after almost a year of back and forth negotiations. In return, Viterra have had a couple of minor track faults removed, an unused turnout that was on the verge causing maintenance hassles removed, a V crossing replaced (kindly donated by another rail entity in Adelaide) and a 130mm track lift through a bit of a problem area that was proned to being submerged. These 4 dual gauge turnouts join another 3 mint condition units that are already stored onsite in Seymour, with a further 4-5 to arrive in the coming months from sources in Vic and SA. Our carriages cover over a century of history including royal and vice regal cars well known S types and some that once featured on the iconic Spirit of Progress. When choosing to travel with us you have the the opportunity to settle back and truly relax reliving the golden age of travel when everything was a little slower and way more fun. Youll be looked after by our dedicated and experienced volunteers and staff.
