Torchlight Tours start this week! Get your tickets before they sell out! The torchlight tour is a unique and entertaining way to experience the Museum by night. It’s dark outside, you get to explore the museum armed only with a torch, and you know there are three dinosaurs in the building. The night at the museum offers a few surprises not visible in daylight. Meet the dinosaurs, discover fossils that reveal an awesome world from the past. Learn about some of the mysteries that still lie, in the dark, beneath our feet. See minerals that glow, fluoresce spark, and glitter in the torchlight as some would have when first found. The museums are open 7 days a week during NSW school holidays. Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum permanently houses the Somerville Collection of fossils and minerals the lifetime work of Warren Somerville AM and features some of the finest and rarest specimens of mineral crystals and fossils from around the world. The collection contains over 5000 objects and is presented together to give a stronger understanding of the development of life on Earth. The internationally renowned collection is displayed in two main exhibitions the Fossil Gallery and the Mineral Gallery.
