The holy icon, entrusted to the Redemptionist Priests in 1865, depicts Mary pointing us to her son, Jesus, as the source of our salvation. This solemnity holds special significance in the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes, where Mary, under this title, has been the Patroness since 1950. Mary’s loving gaze reminds us that she is always ready to intercede for us in time of need. Her example of faithfulness and openness to God’s Word inspires us to place our trust in Jesus, just as she did.
