On Sunday October 5th, students transformed the St Mark's College tennis courts into the MCG (Mark's Cricket Grounds) for a special game of cricket dubbed Marksentest! 🏏 The event was organised by four enthusiastic students, who used the event to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation with a BBQ and raffle. Old Collegian and founder of Yarn Speech, Rebecca Keeley (St Mark’s 2012-2014), was recently awarded the Best New Founder Award at the Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards. 👏 The Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards is a major acknowledgment of the innovation, impact, and diversity of the Australian tech startup and scaleup community. Rebecca won the Best New Founder Award for her mobile phone application ‘Yarn Speech’, which aids families in improving and supporting their child’s early communication skills. After almost 10 years working as a Speech Pathologist in rural Australia, Rebecca had seen firsthand the effects long wait times and wait lists can have on families and Speech Pathologists. She decided to fill this gap by creating an accessible resource for families across the country.
