This year marks the 150th anniversary of Harleston, the beautiful historic home that has served 108 years of Grimwade House students. On Wednesday, Old Melburnians who attended Grimwade House, and their family members, were invited to join the Harleston 150 Years Twilight Celebration. The School honoured its history, its architectural importance, and the special place it holds in the life of our community. Built in 1875 by Frederick Grimwade and his wife Jessie, Harleston was first home to their family, then generously gifted to Melbourne Grammar in 1917, where today it sits at the heart of Grimwade House. Over the holidays, twelve Year 10 and 11 students were immersed in First Nations culture as part of the Cape York Trip, in partnership with Red Earth.  Guided by Uncle Richard and Auntie Lilian, students learned about life on a working cattle station and engaged in local community projects. The journey concluded with an unforgettable day exploring the Great Barrier Reef.
