👶 Paul & George might look like real babies – but they’re actually advanced preterm simulation manikins, used to train healthcare teams at Perth Children's Hospital and Health Service and across WA!⁠ Thanks to PCHF and ToyBox Australia, Paul is the first of his kind in the state – and is modelled on a real 27-week-old preterm baby. ⁠ Paul’s lifelike features include 3D-printed upper airways based on MRI scans of real babies, lifelike breathing, a detectable pulse, and features like IV and catheter access, and even real hair! These features help WA doctors and nurses to practice life-saving care during the critical first hour after birth – when every second counts for the 1 in 10 babies WA babies born preterm each year. 📺 Recently featured on 9 News Perth, Paul and George are already making a real impact in high-pressure training environments – improving outcomes for our tiniest and most vulnerable patients. 🎉 WA, you did it! Our first-ever Give for Kids Day raised over $370,000 (thanks to generously matched donations), making double the impact for our state’s sickest kids. Thank you to everyone who fundraised, donated and got behind Give for Kids Day. These funds will help WA kids at PCH access cutting-edge equipment, groundbreaking research, world-class expertise, and positive patient experiences. A huge congratulations to our top fundraiser, 14-year-old Ben Gregory, who rallied his family, friends, and school community to raise over $20,000 for WA kids. At the start of this year, Ben was facing a rare brain tumour that needed high-risk surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. After suffering a stroke, doctors weren’t sure he’d walk again – but today, he’s running, smiling, and giving back.
