Overview

The Macarthur Workplace Learning Program Inc (MWLP) is a not-for-profit organisation based in New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1995, it initially served the Macarthur region of South-West Sydney. In 2016, MWLP expanded its services to cover the Canterbury-Bankstown and Inner South-West areas, further enhancing its reach within the community.

Objectives

Programs

Work Placement Program

One of MWLP's key initiatives is the Work Placement Program, which annually places over 6,500 HSC students in vocational settings for week-long placements. These placements are part of Vocational Education & Training (VET) courses, Board Endorsed courses (BEC), and TAFE Launchpad courses. The program benefits both students and businesses, as it provides students with real-world work experience while allowing businesses to engage with future workforce members without any hosting costs or significant administrative burdens.

Entry Level Academy (ELA)

Another significant program is the four-stage Entry Level Academy (ELA), designed for students in Years 10, 11, and 12 who require support transitioning to full-time employment. This program is supported by such entities as Training Services NSW and the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

Beneficiaries

MWLP's programs primarily benefit youth aged between 15 and under 25, focusing on vocational education and training to equip these young individuals for the workforce.
