DOLPHIN RESEARCH AUSTRALIA is a marine conservation charity. Over the last year, the organisation has focused on: Continuing the longterm flagship research project in Moreton Bay, Queensland a monumental project to establish the trends in abundance and health, and to understand the ecology and conservation priorities of coastal dolphins in the region. Continuing our more recent longterm flagship research project, Healthy WaterwaysHealthy Dolphins, Northern New South Wales and South East Queensland. The project assesses the ongoing status and health of resident dolphin communities that rely on estuarine environments. It also engages members of Dolphin Research Australia and wider community in citizenscience. Some of the donated funds were used to support citizen scientists to participate in these field programs by covering travel and accommodation costs. Continuing our work monitoring cetacean populations in the Cape Byron Marine Park in partnership with the Arakwal Rangers and the Cape Byron Marine Park Authority. We have also continued to assist in the response to and assessment of incidences of injury, stranding and illness in dolphin and whale along the beaches of SouthEast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Deliver education programs across SouthEast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. We have created a number of education resources for school groups and community which are freely available for download and reference online. Public funds received were primarily used to cover administration costs (including postage, stationary and website registration), along with research (analysis of samples to assess pollutants in cetaceans and scientific publications), and educational services.
