Download our app: c4change.info/theapp Containers for Change is Western Australia s container deposit scheme, which launched on 1 October 2020 with the triple purpose of improving recycling rates, creating employment, and providing an opportunity for notforprofit organisations and charities to raise funds. Since launch, Containers for Change has created more than 821 jobs with more than 33% of those being awarded to people from disadvantaged or vulnerable backgrounds, or those with a disability. In addition, more than $3 million in refunds was donated to charities and community groups throughout WA in the first year of Containers for Change. Containers for Change undertakes extensive marketing and communications activity to ensure community groups and charities are aware of the benefits of the program, which helps to both create funding opportunities for them and improve recycling rates. Our goal is to ensure at least 85% of all 10c drinks containers are recycled.
