On the final day of Elevate 2025 - IACA's Indigenous Artworker Program Canberra Field Trip, participants visited the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) @aiatsis. After a Collections Access and Family History Research overview and workshop in the morning, Artworkers spent the afternoon doing family and community history searches of the AIATSIS database. With the support of Collections Access Officers and First Nations curator, Shona Coyne, the participants accessed photographic, print and audio records and viewed Far North Queensland and Torres Strait Islander artworks from the AIATSIS Collection. IACA would like to thank all the Canberra Field Trip participants, presenters and hosts for their care and commitment, for sharing their knowledge and expertise and for the many valuable contributions they made to an inspiring week of learning and networking.
