The University of Melbourne Medical Students' Society (UMMSS) is the peak representative body for medical students at the University of Melbourne. The University of Melbourne Medical Students' Society is the peak representative body for the cohort of students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine program. Its main aims are to provide support and guidance to medical students, as well as to engage with the greater community by having an active role in advocacy. We provide a voice for medical students and actively campaign for their rights, with a particular focus on addressing disadvantage and discrimination. Moreover, we have numerous working groups that promote and advocate for the rights of refugees and LGBTQI individuals. Our charity is also strongly involved in campaigning at both local, state and national levels. We are affiliated with the Medical Students' Council of Victoria, the Australian Medical Association and the Australian Medical Students' Association, all of which support us in our objectives.
