Stretches every morning.” Born into a farming family in what is now Croatia, Theresa came to Perth with her husband after the Second World War because “there was no snow here.” They raised a family, and Theresa baked her way into catering success. Act Deferral A Welcome Move for Older Australians Amana Living has welcomed the federal government’s decision to defer the introduction of the new Aged Care Act from July to November, recognising the extra time as an opportunity to ensure the reforms deliver real and lasting benefits to older Australians. Amana Living CEO, Stephanie Buckland, said the delay will provide much-needed time to refine critical elements of the reforms—particularly around home care —so that they work in practice for the people who matter most: those receiving care and those providing it. “With the original implementation date fast approaching, the sector was still seeking clarity on key aspects of the reforms. This decision by Minister Sam Rae and the Albanese Government is a considered and constructive response,” Ms Buckland said. “This pause gives us a chance to ensure the reforms are practical, sustainable and focused on improving outcomes for older people.
