CARE Australia was founded in 1987 by former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser, who served as Chair until 2002. During his tenure, Fraser also served as President of CARE International from 1990 to 1995. The organization has grown significantly since its inception, delivering disaster assistance and development programs globally.
