🥋 Silver medal? ✔️ State Squad? ✔️ Can-flip-you-before-breakfast energy? ✔️ Michael is officially a silver medalist and unofficially someone you probably don’t want to challenge in a friendly game of “who can throw who.” He competed in the Melbourne International Judo Open (MIJO), one of the top-level judo tournaments in Australia. Michael won his first match, gave everything in a nail-biter of a second and walked away with a well-earned silver medal and possibly some very impressed spectators. This result didn’t come from luck. It came from daily training, two different clubs, weightlifting, callisthenics and being part of the State Squad preparing for Nationals on the Gold Coast. Basically, while most of us are still deciding what’s for dinner, Michael’s already done 100 push-ups and flipped someone twice. We’re cheering him on as he sets his sights on gold at Nationals.
