PLC Junior School’s Year 6 production of Aladdin Jr was a vibrant showcase of creativity, talent and collaboration. With colourful sets and engaging performances, the production highlighted the dedication and hard work of every student involved. This year’s musical offered a thoughtful take on the classic tale, exploring themes of identity, freedom and the courage to be true to oneself. Audiences were drawn into the world of Agrabah, where a quick-witted dreamer, a strong and independent princess, and an unforgettable Genie brought the story to life with energy and heart. A standout feature of this year’s production was the increased involvement of the chorus, who took part in more scenes and musical numbers than ever before. Their confident delivery of lyrics, harmonies and choreography added depth and vibrancy to the overall performance. A big thank you to all the students, staff and AV team who worked behind the scenes to make the production such a success. (fb)
PLC students, including our dedicated Aerobics/Dance team, proudly took part in The Push-Up Challenge — one of Australia’s largest mental health and fitness events. Our Aerobics Squad aimed to raise $1,000 for Lifeline and far surpassed it, raising $3,268. Over 23 days, they completed an impressive 129,299 push-ups, with daily goals ranging from 75 to 230. Throughout the challenge, students received daily mental health tips in the Student Bulletin, encouraging important conversations around wellbeing. Founded by Nick Hudson (brother of PLC Music teacher Ben Hudson), the Challenge continues to promote mental health awareness nationwide. We’re proud to support this meaningful cause — and we look forward to taking part again next year. (fb)
