Grand Final Debating Success! What an exciting afternoon it was at St John’s yesterday, as both of our very talented debating teams went head-to-head in the grand final! The topic, “Social Media Platforms should be banned for under 16s,” made for a lively and entertaining debate, with both sides presenting their arguments with great skill and confidence. A huge thank you to our wonderful adjudicators, Mrs Walkhom and Mrs Mylecharane, who had the very tricky job of choosing a winner. After much deliberation, Year 5 claimed victory with their strong and convincing arguments for the negative side. Congratulations to both teams for their incredible dedication and hard work throughout the term. We are so proud of the effort, teamwork and talent you displayed. A very big thank you also goes to Mrs King, Mrs TJ and Miss McIntosh for their guidance, encouragement and support in preparing the students so brilliantly (fb)

Year 6 from SJP are deeply honoured and humbled to have been awarded today, the Gerard Yeo Shield - presented by his parents, Pat and Kier Yeo. Our Year 6 students competed against St. Pius X, St Laurence's and St. Mary's Primary Schools and our skills in netball, league tag, soccer, chess and academic ability were put to the test! Not only did we witness school spirit, outstanding efforts and sportsmanship - but also bravery, which was on show often during swooping magpie encounters.😉 We thank the schools who joined with us to commemorate the life and legacy of Gerard Yeo, and to the staff who made this day happen. The Gerard Yeo Shield has become a Year 6 tradition which SJP are very proud of being the winners in 2025. (fb)
