Many recipients have gone on to make positive contributions locally and globally, demonstrating the long-term value of the Trust's educational support[5].
Financial Overview
The Trust maintains a robust financial position with more assets than liabilities, providing a substantial asset coverage that exceeds 238 months of expenses[3]. Despite experiencing some financial losses over the past years, the Trust remains committed to its mission of supporting disadvantaged students[3].
Overall, The Trustee for The Mather Endowment Trust plays a vital role in promoting educational equality and opportunities in Australia by bridging financial gaps and fostering a diverse and inclusive educational environment.

Studying Shakespeare is a rite of passage for our Year 10 English classes. Yvette Blackwood’s class has been reading Macbeth, exploring timeless themes such as ambition, power, guilt and moral conflict. In a modern context, Macbeth helps students understand the dangers of unchecked ambition and the psychological effects of guilt, making it a powerful tool for discussing leadership, integrity and accountability in today’s world. Here are some stunning examples of student creative pieces that reflect their understanding of the play’s broader message. (fb)
The Wind, Brass and Percussion program provides students from Year 5 to Year 12 with dedicated small-group instrument training and opportunities to learn and perform in a concert band setting. This program includes the Year 5 Band, Development Band, Intermediate Band and Wind Ensemble, enabling students to progress from beginner level through seven years of rehearsals and performance experiences. Two additional ensembles also sit under the Wind, Brass and Percussion banner: the Middle School Combo Group, which explores a range of music genres including jazz, blues and movie themes; and the Jazz Band, whose members have had opportunities to perform beyond the School. At one of the Term 3 concerts, all bands performed a diverse selection of pieces — from the Intermediate Band’s percussion section bringing Ghosts in the Graveyard to life, to the Middle School Combo’s energetic rendition of the Mission: Impossible theme, and the Jazz Band’s very cool version of I’m Still Standing.
