PeakCare Queensland Incorporated
PeakCare Queensland Incorporated is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of Queensland's children, young people, and families. Established in 1999, it evolved from the Child and Family Welfare Association of Queensland, responding to the growing awareness of various forms of out-of-home care and child support services provided by non-government organizations.
Purpose and Vision
PeakCare's primary purpose is to champion innovation, create impactful partnerships, and advocate for forward-thinking policies that advance the rights and entitlements of children and their families to safety, well-being, and equitable access to life opportunities. The organization's vision is for all children, young people, and families in Queensland to thrive with access to support when and where it is needed.
Activities and Programs
PeakCare undertakes research, development, and training in child, adolescent, and family welfare policy and practice. It also represents and advocates for its member organizations, providing an independent and impartial voice that promotes matters of interest to the non-government sector involved in child protection, out-of-home care, and related services. One of its notable programs is "Hope and Healing," which focuses on out-of-home care.
Membership and Governance
PeakCare's membership base includes large and small non-profit organizations across Queensland. The organization is guided by a Board of elected representatives from its member organizations, ensuring that its strategic directions are aligned with the needs and interests of its constituents.
Talent Centres
PeakCare offers Talent Centres, which are designed to address staffing challenges in the child protection sector. These centres provide a two-week onboarding program, including candidate assessment, role trials, and mapped pathways to support candidates in achieving specified qualifications.
Registration and Recognition
Registered as a charity by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission, PeakCare continues to integrate quality into its work and strive for continual improvement to contribute to the safety and well-being of children, young people, and their families.

🌟 International Youth Day – 12 August 2025 🌟 Today, we celebrate the energy, ideas, and leadership that young people bring to our communities. This year’s theme, “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” reminds us that change doesn’t just happen on a global stage, it starts right here at home. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global goals set by the United Nations to create a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable world, from ending poverty and protecting the planet to ensuring equality and access to education for all. Across Queensland, young people are driving action towards these goals every day, creating safer, fairer, and more connected communities. PeakCare is proud to work alongside youth whose voices, creativity, and courage are shaping a better future for all of us. Let’s keep creating space for them to lead, and making sure their voices are heard. https://www.un.org/en/observances/youth-day #InternationalYouthDay #YouthVoice #YouthAction #PeakCare (fb)
Today is the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. Observed each year on 9 August, this day recognises the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Indigenous Peoples across the globe, while acknowledging the continued efforts needed to uphold their rights. At PeakCare, we honour the enduring connection First Nations peoples have to land, waters, skies, and community. We remain committed to listening deeply, walking alongside, and creating a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are heard, valued and respected. As we mark this day, let’s continue to centre Indigenous leadership, protect and promote language and culture, and work together towards a future grounded in truth, justice and self-determination.
