REAL-WORLD IMPACT || What does it mean to take charge of your future? For Year 10 students in Exploring Identities and Futures (EIF), it means just that – challenging the status quo, identifying passions 🔍 and putting learning into action 💡. In 2024, EIF students visited the Broken exhibition at MOD. (Australia’s leading future-focused museum 🏛️), prompting deep reflection on what’s “broken” in Australian education. One standout idea was that we focus too much on grades – and not enough on service to others 🤝. Inspired to act, Austin (now in Year 11) recently led a powerful Service-Learning Project in partnership with Resthaven. Supported by fellow students Lucas, Michael, Nick and Shixuan, he coordinated meetings with key stakeholders and created opportunities for students to engage meaningfully with residents through performance 🎶. “It was a truly memorable experience,” said Austin. “The reception from both staff and residents was overwhelmingly positive.” This is EIF in action: agency, purpose and impact. HOCKEY KNOCKOUT CHAMPS || Congratulations to our Open Mixed Hockey team, who defeated Naracoorte High School with a commanding 5-1 victory to earn the title of State Champions at the Hockey Statewide Schools Competition today! 🏆👏 It was a day of outstanding hockey, starting with an impressive 5-0 win against Nuriootpa High School in the morning knockout match.
