L'Arche is a network of communities that build relationships between people with and without an intellectual disability L Arche offers supported accommodation for people with disabilities. Our community currently supports 18 members with Intellectual, physical disabilities and mental illness, who reside in one of our four homes in Sydney Area. Members are supported by support workers and together they perform all daily household duties such as shopping, cleaning and cooking. In addition assistants administer daily medications and assist core members with personal routines, such as showering, depending on the needs of the person with a disability. Some people attend workplaces during weekdays and some visit family or friends from time to time. In all other cases we provide provide 24 hour support and share life with those in the household. With this Innovative Model of supported group home accommodation in a community environment, we supported our core members in their personal needs, to participate in to wider community including the workplace, and to maintain contact with their family and friends. This year we continued to grow while living our Organization's Mission and Vision
