“Connection and community - that is what the RSL is all about.” Speaking at the RSL NSW Annual State Congress, Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, reflected on the contribution the century-old veteran charity makes to those who serve and have served. Her Excellency, as Patron of RSL NSW, said: “To have an organisation which continues to provide them with that community, continues to provide them with that connection, I think is absolutely fundamental to their wellbeing.” The Governor highlighted the ongoing commitment of Defence personnel and the importance of honouring not just their service in uniform, but their continued service in the community. “What I see coming through with the RSL is the continuation of that service… the dedication they give to that, the commitment they give to that, and the impact that has on their lives and their family lives needs to be honoured,” Her Excellency said. For more than 100 years, RSL NSW has upheld that promise – standing with veterans and their families through connection, support, and community. (fb)
