Dubbo RSL sub-Branch (RSL NSW)

The Dubbo RSL sub-Branch is a not-for-profit organisation within the Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL Australia), specifically affiliated with the New South Wales branch (RSL NSW). Established as part of a broader network of RSL sub-branches across Australia, it serves as a crucial support system for veterans and their families in the Dubbo region.

Purpose and Activities

The sub-branch is primarily focused on providing welfare services to veterans, including hospital and home visits, as well as offering support for Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) pension and compensation claims[1]. This commitment to supporting veterans aligns with the broader mission of the RSL to advocate for and assist Australia’s veterans and Defence families.

Structure and Function

As a sub-branch of RSL NSW, Dubbo RSL operates under the state branch's charter. It holds regular meetings, typically at the Dubbo RSL Memorial Club, where members can gather and engage in activities that foster community among veterans[2]. Like other sub-branches, it may engage in fundraising efforts to sustain its services and activities.

Connection to the National Centre for Veterans’ Healthcare

Through RSL NSW, the Dubbo RSL sub-Branch is connected with the National Centre for Veterans' Healthcare (NCVH), where a Liaison Officer facilitates access to the centre's services for local veterans. Each veteran is assigned a Personal Case Manager to ensure comprehensive support[2].

Role Within the Community

The Dubbo RSL sub-Branch plays a vital role in promoting veteran welfare and advocating for community support. It contributes to commemorative events and provides a social framework for veterans to connect with others who have shared similar experiences. This aligns with the RSL's national vision to enhance opportunities for veterans and Defence families across Australia[5].
