The members of the SEE Change WasteLess group have been out and about asking café owners if they will put coffee, tea or hot chocolate in a customer’s reusable cup. So far, most have been willing to provide hot drinks in BYO reusable cups. Does your café allow you to take in your own BYO reusable cup? If yes, why not print out a copy of the poster and ask them if they would display the poster for the remainder of Plastic Free July? This will help promote reusable cups in cafes and encourage others to take in their own reusable cup – many people got out of the habit of taking in the reusable cup during Covid and it is time to remind people that reusable cups are okay. The SEE Change office at Downer Community Centre is a Lids for Kids Zero Waste Warriors Swap and Go location! This means you can bring in you full ZWW tub to our office and swap it for an empty tub. Zero Waste Warrior tubs can accept many (completely recyclable) plastic and metal items that are too small to go into your kerbside recycling bin, saving them from landfill!
