Last night, families from our Early Learning Centre (ELC) joined speech pathologist Julie Liptak for a valuable session on supporting young children’s social thinking and executive functioning. Julie’s calm and practical approach offered parents simple, effective tools to help their children recognise emotions, express themselves, and navigate everyday situations. Recently, our Pre-Prep children visited the Ian Potter Centre at NGV as part of their inquiry into signs and symbols. This exciting excursion deepened their exploration of how First Nations cultures use symbols to share knowledge, tell stories and express identity. The children observed and sketched the symbols they noticed in the art, bringing their ideas and interpretations back to the classroom for further reflection and creative expression. (fb)
