Join us for our October Innovation Series event, presented in partnership with the South East Public Health Unit (SEPHU), as we explore one of the most pressing public health challenges in our region, tobacco and vaping. We’re proud to welcome Professor Dr Aziz Rahman, Professor of Public Health and Associate Dean, Research at Federation University, as our keynote speaker. Professor Rahman is a highly regarded Public Health Physician, Vice President of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA), and a leader whose research spans from local community initiatives to shaping national and international health policies. He’ll share insights into national and regional data on tobacco and vaping, looking at the impact on young people, workplaces, and our wider communities. We’ll also hear from SEPHU, who will share highlights from their Catchment Plan 2023–2028, and join a panel discussion with representatives from Monash Health and Cardinia Shire Council, moderated by Professor Rhonda Stuart, Director of SEPHU. Together, we’ll explore what’s being done, what more is needed, and how we can work collectively to improve health outcomes in the South East.
