Yesterday Mr Quinn and Mrs Marciano had a surprise for our PSSA rugby league teams. Professional rugby league player Damien Cook from the St George Illawarra Dragons came to school to talk about discipline on the footy field. Damien has never thrown a punch on the footy field and it was nice to hear a professional discuss what it means to represent a club, the NSW Blues, Australia or a school team like Burraneer Bay. He spoke about the repercussions of fighting on the field, his journey, being a good team mate and game day routines. It was great to hear from such a well respected player and to learn that incidents on the football field will not be tolerated, that it's better not to react and instead do the damage on the scoreboard!
