Canberra's leading mental health education charity, delivering workshops into schools, community groups and workplaces since 1993. A safe space for mental health education MIEACT continued making a positive difference in the Canberra community. This financial year our organisation delivered 630 mental health education sessions in schools, workplaces and in the community reaching a total of 18,577 participants. MIEACT successfully navigated program delivery barriers caused by the Covid pandemic, including lockdowns and school closures. Moreover, MIEACT has utilised Covid response funding provided by ACT Health to deliver additional sessions, create new mental health awareness resources and engage in a range of mental health education activities in the ACT community. This has included online delivery of stress and selfcarefocused programs for diverse adult and youth groups. The evolution of our online sessions and digital storytelling allowed us to connect with the community through this period. We have expanded our programs and initiatives, tailoring them to serve a wider range of people. With funding received from the Act Health Promotion Grants Program, MIEACT developed Min Mind, My Voice, a mental health and wellbeing awareness initiative that provides culturally and linguistically relevant and specific mental health and wellbeing education within Canberra s diverse communities. It aims to increase awareness of mental health and wellbeing within the ACT community and empower Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities to actively pursue greater wellbeing and mental wellness.
