Scitech Discovery Centre
The Scitech Discovery Centre is an interactive science museum operated by Scitech, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring engagement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across Western Australia. Established on 13 August 1988, it originated from a collaboration between physicist John de Laeter, mining leader Laurence Brodie-Hall, and politician Mal Bryce, who sought to foster public interest in STEM fields.

Located in West Perth, the centre features six interactive galleries, a hands-on science lab, live science performances, and educational puppet shows. Its planetarium, the largest in Australasia, hosts astronomy-focused programs. Exhibits include over 100 interactive installations designed for visitors of all ages, alongside rotating feature exhibitions and workshops.

Scitech’s outreach extends beyond the museum through digital content, professional learning programs for educators, and traveling exhibitions. The organization emphasizes accessibility, offering programs tailored for school groups, families, and lifelong learners. As of 2025, seasonal programming, such as autumn holiday workshops, continues to align with its mission to spark curiosity through experiential learning.
