What happens when a dummy meets a speeding car? Let’s just say… it’s a moment students don’t forget. This week, hundreds of students from across the north-west came through Camp Clayton for RYDA – the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness program. Many are just starting out on their Ls 🚗, and what they learn here could genuinely save lives. From braking distance demos (yep, we’ve got the video!) 🎥 to crash scenario sessions 🚧, it’s a full-on, eye-opening experience designed to shape safer drivers for life. We often say at Camp Clayton: it takes a village to raise a child 🏡 — and this program is such a powerful example of that in action. Rotary volunteers show up day after day to share their experience 🙌 Tasmanian Police commit officers each day to speak truth into young lives 👮‍♂️ Parents are at home doing the steady work of teaching and guiding 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 these learners. And Camp Clayton? We provide the space and support to make it all possible Together, we’re creating the opportunity 🤙But it’s now up to each student to take it on board — to own their decisions, their driving, and their future. Some of our own staff still remember coming here for RYDA when they were in school. Now they’re part of hosting it.
