International Justice Mission is a global leader protecting people in poverty from slavery and violence. IJM's Australia office helps fund our international program work and advocates for Australians to be part of the solution. International Justice Mission is a global organization that protects people in poverty from violence. IJM partners with local authorities in 31 program offices in 16 countries to combat slavery, violence against women and children, and police abuse of power against people who are poor. One brave decision changed everything for these two sisters. Vijayalakshmi was only nine, and her sister Nandini seven years old, when floods devastated their home. To survive, their family took work at a farm. The owner seemed kind - at first. When their parents had to leave briefly to access a government welfare program, they entrusted the farm owner with their daughters. Once their parents left, everything changed.
