Children's Education Foundation - Vietnam works to break the poverty cycle by helping girls from impo We provided financial help to girls aged between 6 and 18. This assistance was used to pay for expenses such as extracurricular class activities, extra tuition, school books and uniforms. We supported those young women who gained a university place for the duration of their course. This was done financially and with regular mentoring as well as through advice on such topics as budgeting, female health, careers guidance and safe use of social media. Where possible, we visited all the families' homes at least twice in the year to keep us up to date with their situations, to provide advice and support to the girls on, for instance, careers, preparation for exams and university and personal issues. We also talked to their parents or guardians about the girls' education, to check whether they needed further support and to make sure the girls home environment was as supportive as possible. In addition, we expanded our program assisting female high school students from ethnic minorities and now work with 3 high schools.
