Be a steady friend and advocate to someone who needs one. We’re looking for a woman in her 30s–40s to build a one-on-one friendship with a woman living with a disability in the Launceston area. This isn’t a professional role, and it’s not about formal support. It’s about showing up as a consistent, trusted person, someone who takes the time to know her, share interests, spend time together, and be there to advocate for her when it counts. What You’ll Do As a Citizen Advocate, you will be a trusted friend and ally to someone who may face challenges in navigating systems, advocating for their rights, or simply finding their place in the community. -Spend time doing things you both enjoy (chatting, going for walks, grabbing a coffee) -Help her feel more connected to her community -Support her to make informed choices and pursue what matters to her -Speak up if you see something that’s unfair, unsafe, or unjust This role is flexible and built around what works for you both.
