Diamond Valley Learning Centre
We are a welcoming community hub offering courses, activities, community groups, and employment services. We create opportunities for learning, growth, and belonging in a friendly and inclusive environment. Our charity, the Diamond Valley Learning Centre (DVLC), has made significant strides in achieving its overall mission and main aims. Our approach to education goes beyond simply offering courses and certificates; it is centered around nurturing possibility and stirring change in the lives of our students. One of our key accomplishments is providing educational opportunities to the community. Through our diverse range of courses, including short courses, nationally recognized certificate courses, and lifestyle courses, we have empowered individuals to acquire new skills and knowledge. We have welcomed a diverse student group, comprising young adults, parents, workers, people with disabilities, older adults, and individuals from different cultural backgrounds. By offering alternative study options, mentorship, and employment support, we have enabled our students to explore new career pathways and achieve their goals. Furthermore, DVLC has played a crucial role in reconnecting disengaged students with education through our Reconnect program. This program, funded by the Victorian Department of Education and Training, offers oneonone support and guidance to individuals between the ages of 17 and 64 who are not engaged in education or training, as well as those who are underemployed. By empowering these individuals and helping them set and achieve their career and education goals, we have made a tangible impact on their lives and opened up new opportunities for their future. In addition to our educational endeavors, DVLC has remained a vibrant and nurturing community hub. We have fostered a friendly environment with small classes, where students feel free to explore, develop friendships, and forge new directions. Our values of kindness, rigour, and fun have been the driving force behind our delivery of courses as a Registered Training Organization (RTO), a Learn Local offering preaccredited training, and a Neighbourhood House offering a broad range of lifestyle courses. We have also facilitated community groups to gather and engage in study, discussion, and learning. Through networking events and a welcoming atmosphere akin to a neighborhood house, we have created a sense of belonging and togetherness. Our commitment to accessibility is evident in our flexible options and affordable price structures, allowing us to make learning available to all. We have ensured that our trainers and assessors hold the necessary qualifications and possess expertise in the fields they teach. This dedication has made a significant difference in the lives of our students, empowering them to pursue their interests, enhance their skills, and achieve personal growth. Overall, the Diamond Valley Learning Centre has made a substantial impact on the community by providing educational courses, reengaging disengaged students, offering a range of community activities, and remaining open and accessible to all. We take great pride in the positive changes we have facilitated
